James A. "Jamie" McBride Jr.'s Obituary
James A. “Jamie” McBride, Jr., 61 of Gunter, Texas went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 22, 2024. He was born January 7, 1963, in Grapevine, Texas to James Alfred McBride, Sr. and Etta Mae Pierce McBride.
Jamie met Beverly McBride, his wife of 33 years, through their mutual best friends, Brenda and Jimmy Mathis in 1990. They formed a friendship that quickly developed into a strong love for one another and
married on February 14, 1991, in Lake Dallas, Texas.
Jamie was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren knew without a shadow of a doubt that they were loved beyond measure, and he absolutely cherished being “Papa” to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved his furbabies, Lucy, Cookie and Oliver. His lap was the best seat in the house.
Jamie was our gentle giant, our teddy bear. He loved taking rides on his motorcycle and had a passion for muscle cars, fishing, boating and good old rock and roll. Jamie was truly larger than life with a heart of gold and he never met a stranger. He enjoyed watching Westerns, more Westerns and an occasional Motorcycle movie.
Jamie was a strong believer in Jesus and gave his life to Christ as a young man. He was a faithful member of Cottonwood Creek Church in Allen, Texas, where he continued to serve and worship Jesus.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Etta and James McBride, his brother Gary McBride, and his granddaughters Amber and Kimberly Herrera.
