MELTON, JAMES HULING born February 16, 1933 in Columbus, GA and passed away December 21, 2011 at 10:25 AM in Dallas, TX. Preceded in death by his mother, Vera Sizemore Melton, father, Eddie Brown Melton, sister, Betty Hoover, and brother, Gerald Melton. Survived by his wife, Shirley Melton, son, James Derek Melton, daughter, Jamia Eckert and son-in-law Jake Eckert, granddaughters Shelby, Ashley and Kacey Eckert, brothers Ray & Larry Melton, and sisters, Patricia Sims and Christine Kilcrease. Family will receive friends on December 23 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held on December 24 at 12:30 PM at Restland Memorial Chapel. Retired from the Dallas Police Department and Garland ISD. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes or Heart Association.
