James Russell Myers Jr.'s Obituary
MYERS, JAMES RUSSELL of Carrollton passed away on March 23, 2012, surrounded by his friends and family. He was born in Fort Worth, TX on February 18, 1934, the son of J.R. and Bertha Hope Myers. Jim served honorably in the US Navy from 1953 to 1957 side-by-side with his twin brother, Jesse. He retired in 2009 at 37 years as Purchasing Manager at Berger Engineering in Dallas. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jesse. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Carol Golden Myers, and his daughter Melanie Lynn Knight, his son-in-law Shawn W. Knight and his beloved granddaughters, Ashleigh and Ava Knight, all of Mooresville, NC. He is also survived by his sister Dolline McLerran, his sister Helen Butler, and brother-in-law Hoss Butler and his sister-in-law, Lura Myers. Many nieces and nephews, a large group of friends, and his in-laws, the Golden family mourn his passing. Family will receive friends on Monday, March 26, from 6 to 8 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 12:30PM at Restland Memorial Chapel with interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Heart Hospital in Plano or the Scottish Rite Hospital for Children and Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
