James William Nance's Obituary
NANCE, JAMES WILLIAM born October 13, 1934, in San Antonio, TX, Jim was raised in Fort Worth where he graduated from Arlington Heights High School. After serving four years in the U.S. Navy, he settled in Richardson, TX where he and his wife, Alice, raised their three children. We lost Jim on May 25, 2013, after a prolonged struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Alice Nance; his three children, Marvel Peterson of Wylie, Lou Nance of Rowlett and Alice Youngblood of Richardson; his 7 grandchildren: Jamie Peterson, Greg Peterson, Ryan Nance, Lauren Nance, James Nance, Brandon Youngblood and Megan Youngblood; niece, Tanya Miller and nephew, Ted Oplinger, both of Bryan, Texas. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Matt and Nina Nance and a grandson, Chris Peterson. A member of Washington Lodge #1117 A.F & A.M. and a Past Worthy Patron of Richardson Chapter No. 921 Order of Eastern Star. Jim will be loved and greatly missed by all who knew him. Family to receive friends at Restland from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, May 28, 2013. Graveside service will be at Grove Hill Cemetery, Dallas at 9:30 AM Wednesday, May 29, 2013. A memorial service will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at First Presbyterian Church, 319 La Salle Dr., Richardson, TX 75081.
