James F. Nations' Obituary
Born February 23, 1928 in Hagerman, Texas, James went home to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday afternoon, surrounded by family, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. His parents Rev. W.E. and Ollie Nations and his brother Joe preceded James in death. James is survived by the love of his life, Jeanene, his devoted wife of 54 years, his sister Nancy Harvey, his beloved children Cathy Dailey and her husband Steve, James D. Nations, Debra Johnson, and Tricia Forshee and her husband Kurt. James was lovingly known as “Papa” to his eight grandchildren: Kristen and her husband Bobby, Lauren and her husband Jeff, Matthew, Katelyn, Cameron, Anna, Meg, and Sam. James also had a wonderful extended family and many life-long friends. James was a long time member, teacher, and deacon of Ross Avenue and Casa View Baptist Churches. James was a living example of a selfless, Christian servant. James worked in the printing business before retiring from Bowne of Dallas in 1995. James was loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed. Pallbearers will be his nephews Billy Harvey, Mike, Doug, and Greg Hanks, and Bobby and Scott Thompson. A special thanks to Claudia and Sandy from Hospice, as well as Helen and devoted friend Drew for their loving care. Visitation will be held at Restland Funeral Home, Dallas on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 from 6:30 to 8:30 P.M., with a Memorial Service on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at 11:30 A.M. at Casa View Baptist Church, 2626 Gus Thomasson Road, Dallas.
