We visited our cousins, the Netherlands, when James was two-years-old. At that time, he was precocious and totally in love with his Teaching Teddy video. While we chatted with Liz, catching up on a million-and-one of our usual list of favorite-things-to-talk-about, James held court in front of the television. Every time the video ended, he called out "Teaching Teddy!" This was his way of asking for the video to be re-loaded. For me, this is where my best memory of him lives, as it has for all the years of his life. Yes, I remember the exciting news of his entrance to the Netherland family. And I remember other successes of his life. But this one memory of him is what lives in my heart. Dear James: You will be missed.
