James "Shorty" Ronald Owen never met a stranger and filled every room with joy.
Born on March 29th, 1938, in Clarksville, Texas, Shorty lived a rich life with love and service. A proud member of the Masonic Lodge and a Shriner, he dedicated his time to helping those in need, embodying the true spirit of generosity and fellowship.
His warm smile and open heart made lasting impressions, and his legacy of compassion will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Shorty cherished his family above all. He is survived by his beloved spouse, Barbara Owen, and his devoted son, Darrell Owen. He was the proud grandfather of Christy Johnson (Jason) and Elizabeth Rodriquez (Andrew), and great-grandfather to Jacob Johnson.
He was preceded in passing by his dad John Owen, mom Laura Jorgensen, sister Frankie Riley and daughter-in-law Debra Owen.
Shorty's life will be celebrated at a visitation and funeral service on Wednesday, January 29th, at Wildwood Chapel, Restland Funeral Home, Dallas, Texas. Visitation will begin at 10 am, followed by the funeral service at 11 am.
