James L. Parker's Obituary
James Lewis Parker of McKinney, Texas, passed away on November 14, 2015 at the age of 88. He was born October 25, 1927 in Baltimore, Maryland. James graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Chemical Engineering in 1952. He married Annette McCleish in1955, and they started out their married life in Port Arthur, Texas. The Parkers lived in a variety of locations including Hammond, IN, Tuscola, IL, Hightstown, NJ and Tyler, TX, finally retiring in 1991 in Allen, TX. James was a chemical engineer for 38 years. He enjoyed ham radio, computers, woodworking and Star Trek. He was a fun-loving father and grandpa to his four children and five grandchildren. James also loved to eat out – particularly Mexican food and seafood. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Joe Jarboe of Lee’s Summit, MO, son, Stephen Parker of Dallas, TX, daughter and son-in-law, Patty and James Schafer of Artesia, NM, son and daughter-in-law, John and Dina Parker of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Brandon Hill, Brandt Gentry, Phillip Parker, Emily Jarboe, Mackenzie Gentry; honorary great granddaughter, Norah Ice; sister-in-law and brother-in law, Verna and Bill Bounds, niece and husband, Barbara and Whit Ellis, and nephew, Bill Bounds, Jr. He is preceded in death by his wife Annette. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 17 from 6-8 p.m. at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas. The graveside service is to be determined. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jim’s life.
