James-Paul Nash Carter's Obituary
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” — Matthew 19:14
James-Paul Carter, lovingly known as J.P., age 3, of Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 31, 2026, swaddled in love and surrounded by his family. He was a brave little boy who fought courageously for nine months after being diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer.
Born on April 25, 2022, J.P. was adored by his older siblings and never wanted to miss out on a good time. He was always in the middle of every activity, soaking up life with curiosity and joy. He especially loved singing along with Ms. Rachel and counting with his beloved Numberblocks.
J.P. was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather. He is survived by his parents, Anne and James Carter; his sister, Natalie; his brother, Nicholas; both grandmothers; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins who will forever cherish his memory.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2026, from noon to 5:00 p.m. at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 16, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark Catholic Church in Plano, Texas, followed by interment at Restland Cemetery.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses who cared for J.P. with extraordinary compassion and devotion. They are also deeply grateful to all who kept J.P. and his family in their thoughts and prayers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Heroes for Children, https://Heroesforchildren.org, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting families navigating pediatric cancer.
