James Jovell Phillips' Obituary
James Jovell Phillips, age 72 passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness surrounded by his loving family at 5:40 AM on January 6, 2019, in Dallas, Texas. He was born on November 11, 1946 to Jessie Lee Phillips and Annie Clyde Hargrove in Florala, Alabama. James will be sincerely missed by his loving family, his devoted friends and all the wonderful individuals who knew him and loved him. He never met a stranger. If anyone ever met him, they never forgot him or his beautiful smile.James married Linda Grace Fuller on January 27, 1967. He is survived by his adoring wife of 52 years, along with their three children, Jeffrey Phillips and wife,Cherie, Brad Phillips and wife, Roxana and Stephanie Parnell and husband, Jason. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Ryan Phillips, Hannah Hawkins and Theodore Phillips. A new grandson named Matthew will arrive in April. He is also survived by his sisters, Laura Calhoun and Virginia Allred; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; brothers and sisters in law; and friends who all loved him. James was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Lee Phillips and Annie Clyde Hargrove; a brother, Billy Joe Phillips; and his sisters, Eloise Killough and Joyce Killough.Funeral Services for James are scheduled for Friday January 11, 2019, at 2:30 PM in the Restland Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be held at Restland Funeral Home on January 10, 2019, from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM.Those wishing to send flowers may send plants or flower bouquets or donations may be made to United Disciples Christian Church in Richardson, Texas or the LBDA (Lewy Body Dementia Association).Funeral arrangements for Mr. Phillips have been faithfully entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Cemetary, which is located at 13005 Greenville Ave., at the intersection of Restland Road, Dallas, Texas 75243, and can be reached at (972) 238-7111.
