James Anton Pipkin Sr.'s Obituary
Age 96, of Dallas passed away Monday, March 24, 2008. He is survived by Pat, his wife of 18 years. Preceded in death by Betty, his wife of 50 years. He is survived by 2 sons, 1 daughter, 1 step-daughter, 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Born in Oklahoma City he attended the University of Oklahoma where he set a school high jump record, played football and was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. In World War II, he rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and participated in the Normandy invasion and the Battle of the Bulge. He was employed by Ford Motor Company and later Chrysler Corporation until his retirement. He was an active member of Richardson Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, York Rite and Shrine where he was a Past President of the Top of Dallas Shrine Club and Past Commander of The Legion of Honor. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, March 27, 2008 at Restland Funeral Home with services to be held Friday, March 28, 2008 at Restland Memorial Chapel, Reverend Neal Jeffery officiating.
