I addressed him as “Mr. Pool” and it was due to his unending expectation of caring for the families. Not only the families he was serving, but to all the families no matter who the Funeral Director. He would go along humming his tunes down the hall, and his kind eyes showed the huge heart inside of him that he tried so hard to hide. The Funeral Industry has lost some big legends on this Earth – r. Pool was one of them. I cannot wait to see the Tapestry of Care that is forming in Heaven! Oh, the beauty they must be radiating! Treasures stored in Heaven are eternal. I thank you Mr. Pool for the example of caring you left on so many of us. You will always be loved and remembered as a gentleman who was given the Gift of Mercy. Thank you for being the blueprint we will follow.

I will always remember Mr. Pool for his kind nature and witty personality. He was a friend and for that I was blessed and grateful to get to know him. A true gentleman who was devoted to his beloved wife. I was taken back by his outlook when I got to spend time with him a few weeks ago for the last time. He had a strong faith, not afraid of what his prognosis and was ready to go see his beloved Carmen. He always gave her credit for his beautiful ties when I would compliment him! The world and Restland was a much better place because of Mr. Pool. I will miss him.

Jim Pool was the example of integrity, caring, and consistancy at Restland for over ten years that I knew and worked with him. Yes, Carmen was the love of his life and we know they are united again. I agree with the twinkle in his eyes, didn’t always know what he was thinking…… sometimes we did. He will be missed and he was loved.

Well, I was bit intimidated by Mr. Pool when I came to Restland. When it came to serving a family, you had better get it right! Coming from an individually owned place in the country, I was clueless when I came to Restland. It took me a while to catch on. Eventually, I won Mr. Pool’s respect and I saw what a sweet man he truly was. I loved how he looked after those families and took them through the process, especially when it came to walking them through the service, literally taking folks by the hand! A steady, but gentle hand like Mr. Pool’s is exactly what every grieving family needs! Though the funeral industry has lost a great director, it is better because of a widespread inspiration he has left for us to take folks by the hand! Ultimately, families are better because the industry is better. We give Mr. Pool heartfelt thanks for that!

Jim Pool was one of a kind… His sweet (yet a little guilty) smile, the twinkle in his eye, his humor, his wisdom and his style are unforgettable. He was a true mentor to me in my early days at Restland and a true friend as I moved on to other endeavors. He was also the funeral director for my grandmother’s arrangements and service at Restland, he was everything my family needed, it was flawless. I knew he and Carmen for 17+ years and I am so at peace to know they are together now. I send my sincere condolences to Jim’s family as well as his Restland family.

Mr. Pool was the ultimate funeral professional. I will never forget the funny little “one liners” that he would mutter under his breath and make me laugh aloud, yet he’d have a straight face like he hadn’t said anything. He came to my new job after leaving Restland to check on me and make sure I was actually working.He will be missed by many and never forgotten. I appreciate the wisdom he poured into me and will be forever grateful for having worked with him.

Jim was such a great co-worker at Restland. He was always calm and very relaxed in all that he did to serve our customers. I worked with Jim a number of years and when we lost my husband in 2015 he was there for me and my family and ready and willing to assist in any way possible. His thoughts and prayers were felt by all of us. Jim will truly be missed by so many friends and family.
