James W. Rasberry's Obituary
James Rasberry, also lovingly known as "Legs" by his friends, went to be with his Lord on October 8, 2023, at the age of 91. He was born on July 16, 1932, to Curtis and Ola Rasberry.
James was a veteran of the United States Army, having served at a young age. Later in life, he developed many hobbies and loved to hunt, deep sea fishing, and traveling in his RV with his wife Joyce, whom he married on February 2, 1962. He was a devout Mason, Scottish Rite, and Shriner.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joyce Rasberry, having been married for an incredible 57 years, as well as 2 brothers and a sister.
James is survived by his son Jimmy Rasberry and daughter-in-law Pamela Rasberry; stepson Bobby Barnes and wife Esta Barnes; stepdaughter Sharon Hill and husband Tim Hill; as well as 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Services for James Rasberry will be as follows: visitation starting at 1 PM on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243. Funeral service will begin at 2 PM on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243. Procession and entombment will follow at conclusion of chapel service.
James Rasberry will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him and his family will continue to carry his legacy.
