James Richard “Rick” Russell Jr. was born on August 11, 1954 in Aurora, CO and passed away September 13, 2015 in Houston, TX. He is survived by his wife, Ginnie Russell; step daughter, Angie Shay; sister, Mari Russell Kopecki and her husband, Chad Kopecki; mother, Carol Hensley and two grandchildren, Zachary James Shay and Beau Douglas Shay. The Passing of a Friend: May we forever hold on to the Joy, Laughter, Gentle Spirit and Kindness of our Friend Ricky. He was one of few words, was very decisive, you never heard him boast or brag, and was always there when you needed him. Easy to talk with, he loved people and would always try to point you in the direction you needed to go. Whether it was professional or personal. It is hard not to smile when you think of all the fun we had as kids and teenagers growing up. The ups,downs and living life to the fullest. Pushing the limits is what we did. Memories deep with in our hearts to still share and laugh about. He is with us always,as long as his memory lives. We will never forget his smile and the sparkle in his eye of his sharp witty sense of humor. We have all been blessed by knowing him and having him as our friend. The family will receive family and friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Friday, September 18, 2015 at Restland Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Restland Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
