James Wendel Shaw's Obituary
Wendel Shaw left this earth suddenly on Sunday, April 28, 2024. He was born April 3, 1935 to Lee and Hida Shaw in Delta County, Texas. He attended school in Pecan Gap, Commerce, Texas, and Crozier Tech in Dallas, Texas.
On May 15, 1954, Wendel married Bobbye Martin and they were blessed to spend 68 years together. Wendel worked for ICT and Southern Plaza in Dallas before starting Express Printing in 1962. After retiring in 2008, Wendel started a new career at Varsity Bookstore in Lubbock, Texas and remained there until his final retirement in 2014. At that time, he moved to Burleson, Texas to be closer to family and has had the privilege of meeting many wonderful friends. Wendel was a father of 2 children, JaNae and Robert, Pappaw to 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Wendel was proceeded in death by wife Bobbye, his parents, brothers Kenneth Shaw, Curtis Shaw, Jerry Shaw, and sister Shirley Bankhead. He is survived by daughter JaNae Davenpart (Bob), son Robert Shaw, grandchildren Chandra Davenport, Chad Davenport (Amber), Kara Shaw, Lynzi Shaw, six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Services are scheduled for Thursday May 9, 2024, 10:00 AM, at Christ Chapel Bible Church South Campus, 390 N Burleson, TX 76028.
In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association 2630 West Fwy Ste 250 Fort Worth, TX 76102 or Christ Chapel Bible Church South Campus in Burleson.
