James Daniel Sims' Obituary
James Daniel Sims was born on October 8, 1933, in Dallas, Texas, and peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 8, 2025. He was lovingly welcomed into the world by his parents, James Lloyd, and Edna, and three adoring sisters, Betty, Bonnie, and Joyce.
James grew up with a passion for math, a love for baseball, and the loyal companionship of his dog, Chubby. He proudly served his country as a Corporal in the U.S. Army for two years.
In 1968, James married Jeanelle Lowe Anderson, and together they shared a life full of love and adventure. He worked in the sheet metal industry throughout his career. During their time in Caddo Mills, they raised chickens and later traveled to Israel, where they lived and worked on a kibbutz for several years. After retirement, they enjoyed traveling across the country in their RV. One of James’s fondest memories was living in Colorado Springs, where he loved sitting on his front porch, gazing at the mountains.
He was known for his sense of humor, warm heart, and generous spirit that touched everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
James was preceded in death by his loving wife Jeanelle, son, Ronnie Anderson, parents, and sisters. He is survived by his daughters, Sherri Sims, and Anita English (and her husband Jim); his son, Jerry Anderson (and his wife Susie); a nephew; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and his devoted canine companion, Katie.
James will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, faith, and quiet strength will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
