Mr. James P. Smith's Obituary
SMITH, JAMES PRESTON Born September 29, 1918 in Arkinda, AR and passed away February 24, 2007 in Rowlett, TX. James was employed with Genuine Parts for 30 years and has been retired from there for 27 years. Mr. Smith grew up in Arkansas but lived in Garland, TX since 1949. He was a member of Saturn Road Church of Christ and Disabled American Vets of WWII. Preceded in death by granddaughter, Shannon Ilene Smith. Survived by wife of 68 years, Dovie Ilene Smith; son, Terry Smith; grandchildren, Brian Smith and Brianne Smith; great-grandchildren, Sterling, Leyton, Avery Smith and Zachary Smith; sisters, Ethel Stewart, Edna Ruth Merryman and Wanda Stevens. Family will receive friends from 5-8:30 p.m. Monday, February 26, 2007 at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at Restland Memorial Chapel.
