James Delbert Smith, age 87 years old. James Smith was born to his thoughtful and loving parents, Oakley Vernon Smith and Callie Roberts in Tira, Texas on Monday, October 30, 1930. James passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2018, in Dallas, Texas. James is survived by his daughters, Linda Moriarty, Martha Smith and Debie Smith of Richarson, Texas; sisters, Janice Thurman of Queen City, Texas, Judy McCreery and her husband Henry of Bloomberg , Texas; grandson, Jeremy Burris of Dallas , Texas; great-grandson Andrew Wood Jr. and wife, Yamely of Dallas, Texas and Tyler Ford of Lawton , Oklahoma; great-granddaughters , Mia Ford and Jasmine Ford of Lawton , Oklahoma; great-great-granddaughter, Regina Wood of Dallas, Texas. James was preceded in death by his parents, Oakley and Callie Smith; wife, Reiko Miyazaki Smith ; brothers, Tilman Joe Smith and Jerl Smith and sister, Faye Wheaton.James met and married the love of his life Reiko Miyazaki in Kokura, Japan on November 18, 1952. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War. Later in life after his service he worked for Collins Radio that also served Rockwall, this is where James retired from.
