James Delaney Solomon, 98 of Garland, TX. died June 23, 2017 at home in Garland. He was born on August 28, 1918 to James Frank Solomon and Laney Hicks Solomon in Hebron, TX. He married Eva Delia Hallman on June 17, 1944 in the “Little Chapel in the Woods” Denton, TX. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree at North Texas State College in Denton. He worked as a Bookkeeper/Accountant/Tax Preparer mostly out of his home office for 50 yrs. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from Dec. of 1941 to Nov. 1945 as a Yeoman First Class. He is survived by his sister Mary Elizabeth Strother of Los Angeles, CA., and son, Ronald D. Solomon, of Wylie, TX. He had 5 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his spouse, Eva Delia Solomon (2014); sister, Eloise Newman (1998); son, Jerry Wayne Solomon (2000), and grandson, Jeffry Neil Solomon(2009). Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
