James M. Stafford II's Obituary
Stafford, James M., II ~ Born in Montclair, New Jersey on July 5, 1924 and passed away in Garland, Texas on April 28, 2011 after a short illness. Mr. Stafford was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert W. Stafford, Sr. and Marion A. Stafford of Dallas, and an older brother, Herbert W. Stafford, Jr. Jim is survived by his wife Marjorie N. Stafford and a brother, William D. Stafford. He had four sons, James M. Stafford III, Allan M. Stafford, Richard D. Stafford and Raymond W. Stafford, and a step-son, Clifton Earnheart. He had 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Jim served in the US Army Air Corp as a 1st Lieutenant in the Pacific during WW II. He was a navigator and bombardier on a B-29, Pride of the Yankees. He received numerous medals including the Distinguish Flying Cross. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1942 and Southern Methodist University in 1949 with a bachelor’s degree in professional accounting. Mr. Stafford had a long and successful career in the real estate and insurance business for 40 years in Dallas and Garland. Jim was a Director in the Texas Association of Realtors, past-president of Garland Board of Realtors, and an instructor of various real estate courses. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and active in Scottish Rite activities. A visitation will be held from 6-8PM on Friday, April 29 at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10AM Saturday, April 30 in Restland Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at DFW National Cemetery.
