James Floyd Stinson's Obituary
James Floyd Stinson went home on June 22, 2012 at his home in Murphy, Texas after a brave battle with cancer. He was 65 years old. Floyd was preceded in death by father, James Whit Stinson & is survived by his wife, Patti Stinson; daughters, Merri Dee Jordan & husband, Scott, Mindy Lea Kirby & husband, Justin Sr.; son, Lars Whit Stinson; grandchildren, Layne Cole, Aaron Jordan, Justin Kirby Jr., & James Kirby; great grandchild, Reagan Cole; mother, Betty Green; brother, Charles Stinson; sisters, Jean Crawford, Vicki Blaylock, & Patsy Denison. He started life on February 22, 1947 in Waxahachie & grew up in Lancaster, TX. Floyd served in the U.S Army as SGT E-5. Floyd was owner of Stinson Service Co until 1997, at which time he retired to follow his passion for classic muscle cars. He & his wife started Firewheel Classics. He was a member of the North Pointe Church of Christ in Sachse, TX. Floyd will be deeply missed by his wife, children grandchildren, & all the lives he touched. Visitation is from 4:00-6:00p.m on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be held at 3:30 Monday, June 25, 2012 at Restland Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors.
