James George Synodis' Obituary
SYNODIS, JAMES GEORGE (JIM) Passed away on Monday morning, April 14, at the age of 80, at his home in Dallas, TX of pancreatic cancer. Mr. Synodis was President for Dallas Title and Texas Title companies for over 25 years, where he was known as a great motivator and a great believer in people. He retired in 1994. Jim was born in Clairton, PA on May 6, 1927, the seventh of seven sons, the youngest of seven brothers. He was raised and schooled in New York City during the Depression years. He proudly served his county in the U.S. Navy during World War II, in the Atlantic and Pacific theatres of war. He also served in the U.S. Navy Reserve during the Korean conflict. Besides a variety of business ventures and experience, Jim was employed as an executive with Phoenix Title & Trust Co., Transamerica Title Insurance Co., and Northern Arizona Title Co., prior to moving to Dallas in 1971. In these endeavors and capacities, culminating in his 25 years as President of Dallas and Texas Title companies, Synodis elicited great loyalty and affection from the many friends and associates who knew and worked for him during that time. Besides his long tenure at Dallas Title and Texas Title companies, Mr. Synodis also served as a member and officer of the Dallas Home and Apartment Builders, Dallas Board of Realtors, American and Texas Title and Metropolitan Title Agents of Dallas, as well as many other title related associations. He was also a member of the Rotary Club, Lions Club, Jaycees, Chamber of Commerce, Boy Scouts of America, as well as co-chairman of Dallas’ American Heart Association, and other charitable associations and trusts. He leaves his precious wife Pamela Synodis, his son Greg Synodis of Seattle, WA, his daughter Donna Synodis of Dallas, his granddaughter Alexandra Synodis of Seattle, WA and his two conservator sons, Seth and Sage Sisco of Dallas, his brother Angelo Synodis of Los Angeles, CA and many nieces and nephews. Beloved husband, father, brother and friend, As unforgettable to any who knew him, Profoundly irreplaceable to those who loved him. Please know, that wherever you go, whatever is in store, you cannot be missed, nor loved more, than by those who have known you, or loved you in this life.
