James Edward Thompson's Obituary
James Thompson, 90 years old, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, after a short illness.
He was born on February 18, 1932, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas to Lucille and Jeff Thompson and is predeceased by his parents, siblings and his wife Mary Francis. He is survived by his nephews, nieces and their families.
James came to Dallas from Arkansas right out of high school, went to work for Texas Instruments and that is where he stayed until his retirement some 40 plus years later. He was proud of his accomplishments at TI and he enjoyed all of the friends he made while working there.
James was a quiet man, strong in his convictions but with a heart of gold. He was born during the depression and rarely spent a dime on himself (maybe even when he should have), but he was always ready to help family and friends when the need arose. Gardening was his outlet, and he loved all the many “Yard of the Month” awards he received.
His family would like to particularly thank Charlene Christopher for being his friend and keeping him busy from time to time. You were an angel to him, and we all deeply appreciate you.
