From Rockwall, TX died at the age of 81 on July 4, 2007 at his home. He was a retired truck driver. He is preceded in death by his wife, Billie Mae Vaughn, daughter Kathy Tucker and sister, Alnita Bridges and 4 brothers, Herman, Theolpholus, Charles and Leon Vaughn. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Etta Blaylock of Crystal Springs, MS and son, James B. Vaughn, Jr. of Stonewall, MS; 8 grandchildren; 1 step-grandchild; 14 great-grandchildren; and 8 step-great-grandchildren.
