James F. Windham's Obituary
James F. Windham of Garland, Texas was born on July 6, 1923 in Reinhardt, Texas and passed away June 25, 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Ann Margaret; his parents, Lillie Winston Porter and James Reuben Windham and his siblings BG, Raymond, Helen and Winston. During World War II James was a Radioman Second Class in the United States Navy. He served in the support troops during the assaults in the Pacific Islands. His medals included the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, earning seven stars and others. He is survived by daughters Debra Windham and Laurie McGill and son in-law Stan McGill of Garland Texas; step-grandsons Andy and Heath McGill of Sikeston Missouri and their families; several nieces and nephews. At James’ request, a private military graveside service will be held on Monday, July 2 at Restland Memorial Park. The family wishes to thank Christian Care Mesquite’s nursing staff and the Hospice team for the care and support they gave to James and his family.
