What an incredibly loving, kind and gracious father in law he was to me. I can never express just how much he will forever be loved, cherished and adored. He had the best stories, best sense of humor and what fun to hear him just randomly belt out in a song! I will cherish the times he would just pull into my driveway and stay for days at a time filling our visits watching movies, telling stories of all kinds and putting our feet under the table together. But after a few days of enjoyable visiting he would suddenly say, “I miss my wife” and he would head back home. His love and adoration for his wife was so precious to see. When I first met him he said to me, “Don’t call me Jim- call me dad!” I loved him from that moment on and I know he loved me like his own. We shared a special bond and enjoyed sharing stories of our childhoods, having grown up right near the same area. We even shared the same Friday/Saturday night “main drag” driving hangout as teenagers in Clovis, New Mexico. Although I lost my parents young Jim & Barbara have never made me feel parentless and have and continue to show the fullness of unconditional parental love. I am forever thankful for this family’s love which began with one GREAT MAN- who married one INCREDIBLE WOMAN and being blessed through Gods love and grace have four amazing sons which inherited the best qualities of each parent. I am HONORED and very THANKFUL to be a very well loved daughter-in-law. THIS MAN WILL BE GREATLY MISSED and we are all so thankful for the time God granted us with him. He loved his wife, sons, grandchildren, extended family and friends above all and they loved him dearly. Nothing delighted him more than when a loved family member or friend would walk through the door- he’d just light right up with smiles all the way until the end of his days!
