James Ritter Calkin Wolf's Obituary
James Ritter Calkin Wolf was born on January 23, 1990, to parents Lynda J. Calkin and J. Mark Wolf in Dallas, Texas. He passed away on May 1, 2021, in Richardson, Texas. James spent his early years in Lake Highlands enjoying the stables with peacocks, Flag Pole Hill, and his neighborhood buddies. He then moved with his family to Richardson where he went to Yale, Apollo, and Berkner High School. After high school, James attended Auburn University and graduated with a construction science degree with ambitions to pursue commercial construction and real estate development. From pre-school on he enjoyed books; everything from mysteries, fantasies, and historic fiction. He played the saxophone, and he relished the outdoors. He played several sports through high school and enjoyed golf, fly tying, bird hunting, cooking out, music, beach trips, and any activity in the mountains. Much like his grandfathers, he loved to fish and spend time with his beloved big chocolate lab Deacon. As the middle child, James adored his big brother Zach and was a loving big brother to his sister Michael. He was a loving, cherished son to his mother and father. In his early twenties, James was gradually debilitated with mental health disorders, and he attempted to persevere through extremely challenging conditions thereafter. Within all the difficulties, he thought of his family and dearest friends first, sought to be better to contribute somehow in a positive way, and pursue the Lord. James is preceded in death by grandparents, Betty L. and Vernon F. Calkin; and Grace E. and James P. Wolf; and Blitzen. He is survived by his parents, Lynda J Calkin and J. Mark Wolf; siblings, Zachary C. Wolf (Kelsi Wolf), and Michael Leah Wolf; niece, Ellie Wolf; nephew, Oliver Wolf; aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family across the U.S., and Lourdes Balduria. None will miss him as much as his dearest four-legged companion, Deacon. He was taken from us abruptly, but our dear James will forever be loved, always missed and never forgotten. We will forever remember his big heart, sense of humor, contagious smile, and graciousness.
A small private memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 10:00am
