Jan Mustaine's Obituary
AKA: “Mary Janice Mary O’Connell Thomas Mustaine” On Friday June 24th 2016 at 8:45pm, Jan Mustaine passed peacefully in Dallas, Texas. Born December 23, 1941 in Boston, Massachusetts and preceded in death by her parents Thomas Meade and Mildred Rose O’Connell. Also preceded in death by her son Kenneth Ralph Thomas Jr (http://www.rememberken.net) Survived by her husband Bob Mustaine, son Tom Mustaine (wife Lisa), daughter Evelyn Thomas, sister Mary Ann O’Connell, brother Ted O’Connell, auxiliary daughter Shirley Sauro Frye, her life long friend Judy Jones, and numerous family and friends. Jan was a free spirit and spent much of her life traveling the country from coast to coast living in Boston, Seattle, Denver, Santa Fe, Colorado Springs, and multiple cities in Texas. Jan loved to read, watch TV & classic movies, and loved games – she played pool, loved to bowl, was a fan of board games and enjoyed video games like Diablo and World of Warcraft (where she maxed out the number of characters the game allowed.) Jan was a loving wife and mother. Her homemaking skills went to 11. She loved animals and always had multiple dogs or cats and later in life she fostered and found homes for numerous orphaned kittens. She was a nature lover and climbed, camped, and hiked in trails and parks as often as she could. Jan’s wish was to be cremated, mixed, and scattered on the south side of Pikes Peak with her husband Bob when he passes. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jan’s name to Operation Kindness. (http://bit.ly/1ObVQky) Memorial services are pending at this time. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
