Jan Suzanne Fillebrown born March 23, 1939 in Houston, Texas and passed away March 23, 2016 in Anna, Texas. Preceded in death by parents, William “Babe” and Margret Akkerman. Survived by husband, Charles Jerry Fillebrown; daughter & son in law, Taylor & Pam Davis; son, Chris Fillebrown; daughter, Laura Fillebrown; son & daughter in law; Scott & Lee Ann Fillebrown; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; siblings, Jim, Jon, Neal & Steve Akkerman & Betsy Cogburn. Sue was a dedicated and loving wife to her husband, Jerry of 59 years. She exhibited her love for him daily through her tender care. In addition to her unfailing love for her husband, child rearing was also an essential part of her life. She was very active during the school age years of her children’s lives. She volunteered for several years as a home room mom, and also as a Cub Scout den mother. Patient and nurturing, she made sure her children and later, grandchildren felt important. As a mom and grandmother, she was always steadfast in finding one on one time to spend with each and every child making special memories. Sue also created special memories traveling around the world with her husband. She successfully visited five of seven continents in addition to Canada and forty-nine states. Some of the hobbies she enjoyed were ballet, skiing, gardening, crochet, smocking, and of course her amazing baking. Between traveling and hobbies she managed to become a loyal florist designer and buying manager with a major craft store. Apart from her family, traveling, and career, she was a faithful servant of the Lord. Sue served as the V.B.S. and Sunday school director for many years. As an active member of two different churches she served on the flower guild always giving of her time and talents. Living by example, Sue leaves her legacy behind for others to follow. Never fearful, always willing, she was an amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend. Service for Sue Fillebrown will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St Stephens Episcopal Church 401 S Crockett St, Sherman, TX 75090. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Daughters of the King, St Stephens Episcopal Church 401 S Crockett St, Sherman, TX 75090
