Jane R. Burns' Obituary
Born on June 11, 1922, an independent, strong, loving mother, grandmother, great-grand-mother & friend, joined the angels in the early morning hours on Tuesday, December 23, 2014. Early on in life, Jane met and fell in love with Paul Thomas Burns. The two married June 1, 1941 and raised two sons, Greg and Mark, at their home in Richardson, Texas. The family lived for warm, sunny days near the Red River border and on the waters of Lake Texoma. She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul in early 2009. Jane had a deep devotion to God and her faith. Her morning ritual was to focus on God and reading scripture. One of her favorite entertainments was to conquer the Dallas Morning News crossword puzzle. She balanced her leisure time between her favorite Soap Operas & Fox News. Don’t dare change the channel from Fox News! Caring for her roses was a true love and joy. Jane took extreme pride in her grandchildren; Jennifer Burns, Chris Burns, Matt Burns (who was taken from the family much too early in 2009), Taylor & his wife Leigh Burns who in 2014 joyfully presented her with the first great-grandchild & Jane’s namesake Langley Ryan Burns. Mark Burns, Pam Burns Davis, Greg Burns with his wife Claudia, and her grandchildren, carry on Jane’s heritage; who have consistently brought security and joy to her life. The Burns Family entrust their loved one to the care of Restland Funeral Home. A private visitation will be held 10:00 AM on December 26, at Wildwood Chapel at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243. Donations to Cancer Charities in Jane Burns name would be appreciated.
