Jane Carolyn Easterwood's Obituary
Jane Carolyn Mabray Easterwood passed away April 25, 2023 after a long bout with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born on Christmas day 1938 in Waco, Texas to parents Alva and Mabel Mabray. She was a 1957 alum of Waco High School and graduated from Baylor University where she was a proud Kappa Kappa Gamma. That same year she married Kenneth Easterwood, Jr., who grew up just down the street. They were married 62 years and spent most of that time firmly rooted in Dallas Texas.
Jane was the ultimate rock and roll fan, preferring Mick and Keith over John and Paul. She saw every Rolling Stones tour except one, and she even attended their most recent Cotton Bowl appearance at the tender age of 82. She loved fast cars and shopping sprees at NorthPark Mall. She had a sharp wit and loved to laugh, but mostly she’ll be remembered for being a fun-loving mother and grandmother.
Jane leaves behind her husband Ken, daughter, Camille Kuzmick, husband Mike and two grandsons, John and Patrick Kuzmick. Her son, Reed, lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Before Alzheimer’s robbed Jane of her mobility, she and Ken enjoyed traveling to Alaska, Europe and the Caribbean as well as numerous trips to the Rocky Mountains.
The family wishes to thank her friends and well-wishers and those at Juniper village and Hospice Plus who have taken care of her over the past few years.
We wish to celebrate Jane’s life and laughter on June 24, 11:00 am at Restland Funeral Home Wildwood Chapel. A reception will be held at Restland Event Center following the Celebration Service.
