Jane Felton Scott's Obituary
Jane Felton Carter Scott was born on October 15, 1921 in Dallas, Texas and passed away on March 27, 2017 in Dallas, Texas. Jane was predeceased by her husband, Randolph Eanes Scott. She is survived by three children, Randolph Scott, Jr. (Sue), Roy Carter Scott (Janet), and Catheryne Jarmakowicz. Jane is also survived by five grandchildren, Shannon Brown (David), Leisha Phipps (J.B.), Randolph Eanes Scott, III (Sandra), Brent Scott (Katie) and Scott Jarmakowicz. She was blessed with 7 great-grandchildren, Grace, Sam, Randolph IV, Wes, Lexi, Reed and Landry. Jane was born, raised, and lived in Dallas almost her entire life. She graduated from Highland Park High School in 1939. She attended Hollins College for one year before transferring to the University of Texas, where she joined the Pi Beta Phi fraternity. She continued her connection with Pi Phi for many years, assisting young ladies through the pledge process. Jane and Randolph met during World War II while he was in flight training at Dallas Love Field. They married on June 10, 1943. The Junior League was a big part of Jane’s life. She was an active member and volunteered her time to many different organizations. Jane loved to play bridge and at one time belonged to three clubs. She was a highly sought partner into her mid 80s. She also belonged to a book club for many years and enjoyed all of the speakers and authors. As a child, she was a member of City Temple Presbyterian Church in downtown Dallas. She later attended Highland Park Presbyterian Church and then became a long-time member of Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church where all three of her children were confirmed. Memorials may be made in her name to the ALS Association (alsa.org) or to the charity of your choice. Graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 11 AM in the Court of Reflections Garden in Restland Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted into Restland Funeral Home and Restland Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas, 75243.
