Janelle D. Jackson's Obituary
JACKSON, JANELLE DEBOW born April 13, 1919, in Princeton, Texas, to John SolomonDeBow and Sarah Annette Campbell , the youngest of eightchildren. She graduated valedictorian from Princeton High School and attended East Texas State Teachers College, now known as Texas A&M University Commerce. Within 3 years and nine months, she achieved both her bachelor’s degree in 1939 and master’s degree in 1940. She received a certification to teach in all grades including undergraduate classes. On June 27, 1942 she married Lieutenant Kirby Hall Jackson of Dallas in the chapel of Fort Benjamin in Harrison, Indiana. Residing in Preston Hollow for over 60 years, she was a charter member of Preston Hollow United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women’s Club, C.C. Young Memorial Home Auxiliary, The Mother’s Club of Southern Methodist University, and several book clubs. She is survived by her son, Kirby Hall Jackson Jr., and her grandchildren CarlRussel Hensch III, Ashley Caroline Jackson, and Kirby Hall Jackson III. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Restland Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Restland Memorial Park.
