Gordon and family, I am so saddened to hear about your loss. My prayers and deepest sympathies are with you as you learn a new life without your wife and mother. Too young. So unfair. Love and (eventual) light to you all.

Janet was a beautiful person inside and out. She was so supportive of her children and Green Elementary School. Sending hugs and prayers to Gordon and the children!!! Susan McDaniel.

To Janet’s family. I will miss her sweet smile and gentle kindness. We had so so many good times together over the years, and she made a beautiful impact on so many lives. She was the kind of person that everything she touched turned to gold. How proud her loved ones must be of the powerful legacy she leaves behind. And how sad I am to lose my friend.

My dearest friend Janet: I can’t believe you are gone. Losing you feels like having a page torn from the book of my life. A chapter that was filled with laughter, shared secrets, unforgettable adventures, and a bond that transcended mere friendship.
We first met when we were 12 standing in the drill squad line. We were put inline from tallest to shortest. Little did I know then that being vertically challenged would be the greatest gift because I met my best friend that day.
We had so many conversations over the years pondering life, sharing our dreams, fears, and hopes. It was during these times I learned about your compassionate heart, and your spirit that sought to make a difference in the world which you over achieved, like most things you did.
Over the years, life took us in different directions. Careers, families, and responsibilities meant we couldn't spend as much time together as we once did. Yet, the bond remained unaltered. A simple text, a brief call, or an unexpected visit was enough to bridge the gap of time and distance.
Your departure has left a void, a silence that is deafening. But in the midst of my grief, I choose to focus on how you embracing life, each day as a gift.
Janet, in you I didn't just find a best friend; I found a sister, a confidante, a partner-in-crime, a beacon of light in my darkest moments. As I mourn your physical absence, l also celebrate the spirit that continues to live on in my memories.
Our paths will cross again. Until then, I carry you in my heart, cherishing every moment we shared and I will forever pay attention to who is standing next to me.
Janet was an active member of Attorneys Serving the Community, an organization of women lawyers that supports local non-profits in DFW. Janet was a member of our Silent Auction committee and made a point to attend most of our meetings and events. She always had a smile on her face and a willingness to help. Our membership year runs from July to June. Janet had not yet renewed her membership by donating money to our current charity. (This is not uncommon, many of our members renew in January.) Our membership is going to renew Janet's membership for this year by making a $500 donation in her honor to our current beneficiary, Crossroads Community Services. We will recognize her posthumously on our website and in our printed materials. It was an honor to know Janet, and she will be greatly missed as a member of our organization.
