Janet E Yount's Obituary
Janet Eleen Bushman Yount, 73, completed her earthly race and began her new life in heaven on Thursday, June 12, 2025. Born in Temple, Texas, on March 9, 1952. Jan grew up in Texas and Kansas, graduating from W.T. White High School in 1970 and from Baylor University in 1974. She began her career as an elementary teacher before earning her Master’s in Speech Pathology from Texas Women’s University. Jan served for over 17 years in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD as a dedicated speech pathologist and assistive technology specialist, where she was deeply respected by students and colleagues alike.
A very active member of First Baptist Church of Carrollton (FBC at the Fields), Jan devoted herself wholeheartedly to ministry, volunteering with Vacation Bible School and Bible Drill for over 20 years. She also faithfully taught 6th grade Sunday School for many years, sharing her love for scripture with each generation.
Jan was married to Louis Yount, Jr. for 50 years. She is preceded in death by her parents, Wesley Eugene Bushman and Margeann Anderson Bushman; her brother David Bushman; and brother-in-law, Jeff Faulkner. She is survived by her husband, Louis Yount, Jr.; children, Nicolas (Erin) Yount, Amber (Stan) Caldwell, and Adam Yount; grandchildren, Cara Yount, Caitlyn Yount, Wyatt Caldwell, Ella Yount, and Dylan Caldwell; brother Charles (Lana) Bushman; sister Barbara Faulkner; sister-in-law, Patti Bushman; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Jan’s life was marked by a deep and steady faith, strength, and a servant’s heard. She leaves behind a legacy of love, encouragement, and devotion to her family, church, and community.
A celebration of her life will be held at First Baptist Church at the Fields in Carrollton, TX on Saturday, June 28th, 2025, at 11am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Samaritan’s Purse International Relief.
