Janice Roberta Bowling's Obituary
Janice Roberta Oehrlein Bowling, 71, of Plano, TX died suddenly on March 21, 2015. She was born to Lucile and William Oehrlein and grew up in Los Angeles with her sister Phyllis (Ron) Squeglia, near the Pacific Ocean that she loved. She married David Bowling in 1964 and was a loving mother to her daughters Jenelle Bowling and Bethany (Shawn) South, and a fun-loving “Grani Jan” to her grandsons Aaron Schnoebelen, David South, and Andrew South. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Pepperdine University, and her Master’s degree from Oklahoma State University. She was involved in many service and social organizations, and devoted her career to helping the mistreated and abused as a social worker for a battered women’s shelter in Houston, Children’s Protective Services, and for the school system in Humble, TX. Her life was filled with faith, friends, family, and travel. Memorial service for Janice Bowling will be held at 1:30 PM Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Canyon Creek Presbyterian Church in Richardson, Texas. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
