Janice Jane Brightwell's Obituary
Janice 1. Brightwell, 77, died December 22,2010 at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. She was born on October 24, 1933 in Newton, Kansas to Edwin G. and Alice M. Schroeder. Janice moved to Dallas from Kansas in 1954. On April 12, 1959 she was united in marriage to George Brightwell in Dallas, Texas. He preceded her in death in October 1973. Janice was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Dallas for many years where she dedicated many hours of her time volunteering in various aspects of church work. She was a member of Zion’s senior group with whom she loved sharing monthly lunches as well as bus tours of interesting sites across Texas. Her local favorites were the Dallas Arboretum and the Myerson symphony concerts. Janice was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Survivors include two sisters, Virginia Miller and her husband Ralph of Highland Village, Texas, and Norma Barnes and her husband Clifford of Hutchinson, Kansas; three nephews, one niece and a host of other relatives and friends. Services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 6121 E. Lovers Lane, Dallas, on Tuesday, December 28 at 10:00 am. Interment will be at Restland Cemetery, Dallas. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the many acts of kindness shown during her short illness and at her passing. Donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.
