Janice Gloria Sokolove's Obituary
Janice Gloria Sokolove, age 87, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025, In Richardson Texas. Born July 9, 1938, in Camden, New Jersey, she grew up with strong values rooted in faith, family, and service. A proud Baptist and faithful churchgoer, she lived a life of quiet strength and unwavering devotion to the people she loved.
She was best known for her kindness, warm heart, and creativity. One of her pastimes was crocheting, and she lovingly made handmade doilies; each carefully personalized with the names of those who received them. They became treasured gifts and cherished keepsakes for many.
She had a spirit of adventure and joy for life that she shared with her beloved husband, Joseph (Deceased), during their many travels together. Cruises were their favorite escape, and the memories made on those voyages remain a legacy of love and adventure. She was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she formed deep friendships and lived out her commitment to charity and community service.
Above all, she was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her children, Deborah Reed (Husband Gary Reed), Sharon Lussier (Husband Roderique Lussier III), and Allen Sokolove (Deceased) were the light of her life. She adored her grandchildren Jeremy Reed and Pamela Johnson and found immense joy in their accomplishments and presence.
Her memory will live on in the lives she touched and the family she nurtured with love, grace, and unwavering care.
A graveside service will be held on Friday August 15th at 9:00am at Restland Cemetery in the Court of Good Shepard.
