Janice Areta Zullinger nee McKee (Prasifka/Roden)'s Obituary
Janice Areta Roden. Born 28 January 1935, Dallas, Texas. Died, 25 October 2022, Dallas,
Texas.
Daughter of John McKee (nee James Kell Zullinger) and Leo Fern Armstrong.
Native Dallasite, attended Woodrow Wilson High School, University of Texas at Austin and
Southern Methodist University.
First married Paul Henry Prasifka, children of this marriage: Madeline Joan Prasifka,
Frederick John Prasifka and Jeanette Marie Prasifka.
Second married Monroe (Bud) M. Roden.
Employment: Dallas Title Company in the capacity of Vice- President, and after retirement
assisted at the law firm of Steven S. McGilvra.
Upon retirement, completed genealogical research and compiled and published the
following books:
• Zullinger/Zollinger genealogy: some of the descendants of Jakob Zullinger, German
emigrant to Pennsylvania in 1749
• Zullinger/Zollinger genealogy sequel: some of the descendants of Jakob Zullinger,
German emigrant to Pennsylvania in 1749: with allied families Keefer, Kell, Over, and

• Armstrong genealogy: some of the descendants of John Armstrong and his wife, Sarah
Hawthorn (Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi) with associated families: Morgan, Porter, Ruff

• Kell genealogy: some of the descendants of William Kell (PennsyIvania, Ohio): with
associated families: Frank, Hole, Hostetler, and Zullinger
• Johnson genealogy: some of the descendants of the Johnson's of old

She is survived by daughters Madeline Bark (Ed), Jeanette Prasifka (Robert Curry),
stepdaughter Susan McKeon (Michael), stepsons, Russell Roden (Donna) and Monroe
(Monty) Roden, grandchildren Carl and Rachel.
Her daughters would like to thank the staff of T. Boone Pickens Hospice and caregivers
Lisa and Nene for their loving care of their Mother during her last days.
