Janie Campbell's Obituary
Janie H. Campbell, age 62, of Dallas, Texas passed away peacefully on February 17, 2011 at her home after a three-year fight with brain cancer. She was born on March 2, 1948 in Sulphur Springs, Texas to her parents, J.C. and Audrey Hollingsworth. Janie was the younger of two children. She enjoyed a happy childhood in Sulphur Springs, TX and graduated as valedictorian from Sulphur Springs High School in 1966. She married her high school boyfriend, Bill Campbell, but they later divorced. She had two children and loved being a mother. She was a longtime resident of Dallas, Texas and employed as a legal secretary for over 30 years. Janie was an active member of Prestonwood Baptist Church and she enjoyed musicals, antiques shopping with her friends, and her three grandchildren. Her favorite pastime was rocking babies, but singing in the church choir was a close second. Her children, Melissa Landis and David Campbell, will remember Janie fondly. She is also survived by her father, J.C. Hollingsworth; her brother, Billy Hollingsworth; and her three grandchildren, Brandon Landis, Cassidy Landis, and Landry Campbell. Relatives and friends are invited to a service of remembrance for Janie at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, February 23rd at Restland. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 22nd from 6:00-8:00 PM. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial in Sulphur Springs, TX at 3:00 PM on February 23, 2011. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Brain Tumor Association, www.abta.org.
