Janie Majors' Obituary
Verna Jane Majors, 70, of Richardson, Texas died April 1, 2019, at her home in Richardson as a result of a Brain Tumor. She was born April 20, 1948, to Walton Ingle and Oleta Bass Ingle in Greenville, Texas. She was married to the love of her life James Edgar Majors on November 17, 1967, at the First Baptist Church in Caddo Mills, Texas. She was known by her nickname Janie.Janie was proud of her role in life as a homemaker and mother to her three daughters and grandmother to seven grandchildren. She worked for the Richardson Independent School District at Dartmouth Elementary in various roles and retired as the executive assistant to the principal. Up until her death she served faithfully in multiple roles in the church including the role of pastor’s wife. She was a member of the Heights Baptist Church in Richardson and in support of her husband – a member of the Floyd Baptist Church of Greenville. Janie believed that in Jesus Christ she had “everything she needed” (Psalm 23:1)Janie is survived by her husband Jim Majors of Richardson, three daughters: Jennifer King of Garland, Texas; Janet Heaton of Flower Mound, Texas and Jill Michaelis of Richardson, Texas; seven grandchildren: Meagan Kirkpatrick of Sacramento CA, Tara Kirkpatrick of Lewisville, TX, Morgan and Hayden Heaton of Flower Mound, and Abby, Kanyon and Rachel Michaelis of Richardson, TX. Janie is survived by one sister, Wanda (Sandy) Burch of Cash, Texas. Janie was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Bill Ingle, and one sister Carrie Thornton.Her Celebration of Life funeral will be held Sunday, April 7, 2019, at 2:00pm at the Memorial Chapel at the Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery officiated by her husband Rev. Dr. Jim Majors. She will be buried in Restland Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday April 6 from 1-3pm.
