Janie Ochoa's Obituary
Janie Ochoa, 82, of Garland, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on February 2, 2021. She was born on, August 10, 1938 to Severino and Eutimia Olivarez in Robstown, Texas. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
Janie grew up in a small Texas town in the Valley and married the love of her life, Ignacio Ochoa, Sr. when she was 15 years old. Janie was a long-time resident of Garland, Texas, and a member of New Life Baptist Church. She was a faithful and true believer in Jesus Christ. Janie loved to help others and spent many years volunteering at the Friendship House in Garland. She was always thinking of others and there was never an opportunity that she missed to share the Gospel or offer prayer for her loved ones or friends. She lived life to the fullest and always enjoyed a good laugh. She enjoyed watching sports on TV and was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan.
She was preceded in death by her parents Severino and Eutimia Olivarez, sons Francisco Ochoa and Javier Ochoa and great-granddaughter Avery Ochoa.
Janie leaves behind to cherish her memories her husband of 66 years, Ignacio Ochoa, Sr., sons Arnold Ochoa (Diane), Adrian Ochoa, Sr. (Yolanda) and Ignacio Ochoa, Jr. (Caryn), grandchildren Christina Diaz, Laurie Johnson, Adrian Ochoa, Jr., Nikki Salazar, Jaime Ochoa, Jay Ochoa, Michael Ochoa, Ashley Ochoa, Anna Nelson, Adam De la Garza, Amber Hutchison, Stetson McMillan, Alex Latus, Jessica Ochoa, Ashton Esparza, Juan Ochoa, Jon Ochoa, Zac Ochoa, Trey Ochoa, Clay Ochoa, Nick Ochoa and Dallas Ochoa, she was also blessed with 36 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren as well as many nephews, nieces and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 3-5 pm Friday, February 12 at Restland. A celebration of her life will be held at 11 am Saturday, February 13 at New Life Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas with burial immediately following at Restland.
