Janie Gertrude Parks' Obituary
PARKS, JANIE GERTRUDE CARTER beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away July 7, 2013 at the age of 91. She was born March 6, 1922 in Oklahoma City, OK and moved to Dallas with her husband, Frank, in 1959. Janie is survived by her daughter Beverly Anderton (Steve) of Garland, son Frank Parks III (Lisa) of Lafayette, LA, granddaughter Marissa Anderton Bennett (Monty), grandsons Jeffrey Anderton and Frank Parks IV, and great-grandson Jack Carter Bennett. She is also survived by her sister, Willie Hensley, her cousin, Mary Salmons. She was preceded in death in 2002 by her husband of 56 years, Frank Parks Jr., and in 2012 by her cousin, Virginia Burgeis. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Restland Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, July 12, 2013 at Restland Wildwood Chapel. Interment will follow at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home on Northwest Highway.
