Janie D. Perkins' Obituary
Janie, lovingly referred to as “Nani” born September 30,1935, attended Woodrow Wilson High School and SMU. She met Terry M. Perkins in Junior High School and they married after his first year at Texas A&M in 1954. They raised 3 precious children in Richardson Texas where Dr. Perkins owned his Veterinary Clinic on Arapaho Road.
Janie had great love for arts and travel. After receiving her Masters Degree in Art History from SMU, she felt she had the perfect background for traveling the world, seeking out the art and culture from many countries all over the world. Janie and Terry filled their home with beautiful treasures collected from their journeys.
Janie and Terry shared the great love of caring for animals and she worked with him every day until her death. They were always together and married for 67 years.
She is survived by her husband Terry, the love of her life and her three loving children. Daughter Kelley Perkins Owen and her two children, Jonathan Owen and his wife Allison and their two children Jordyn and Kyle Hunter. Hillary Owen and her husband Jay and their 4 children, Charles, Walter, Elizabeth and Remy.
Her son Todd Perkins and his wife Susi and their three children, Samantha, Colin and his wife Brett and their young son Travis and Lauren and her husband Zach Pendergrass.
Her son Kenneth Perkins and his wife Debra and their son James Perkins and his wife Caroline of Austin, Texas.
One sister Lavonne Blackman of North Carolina and many nephews and nieces.
Her friends were her treasures and she was always there for all of us all the time. We will miss her dearly but find comfort in knowing she is in heaven with all of her friends and family that have gone before her.
