Mrs. Janie Ruth Shaw, 76, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 21, 2019, in Carrollton, TX of natural causes. She was born on June 29, 1943, to her loving and thoughtful parents, Barney Burl Adwell and Josephine Leona May Adwell in Ozona, TX. Mrs. Jan Shaw, known to many as Big Mama, will be sincerely missed by her loving family, her devoted friends and all the wonderful individuals who knew and loved her.She married James {Jimmy a.k.a. Papaw} Shaw on June 29, 1978 in Dallas, TX. Jan was a medical nurse for 31+ years before retiring in May 2008. In retirement she was an avid online gamer and doting grandmother and great-grandmother.Mrs. Jan Shaw is preceded in death by both of her parents, her brother Jackie and half-brothers Bill and Burl, sister Sarah, her husband Jimmy and daughter, Vicki Hoenig Biggerstaff. She is survived by son-in-law, Alan Biggerstaff and daughter-in-law, Sheila Biggerstaff; son Ronnie Hoenig; sons Monty & Mickey, granddaughters, Holli Biggerstaff, Kristal McKown and husband, Derrick; grandson, Beau Biggerstaff and wife, Julie; granddaughters, Brandy Kelly, Sherri Dempsey and husband, John; great grandchildren, Rylee and Jaxon McKown, Emilee and Bailee Seale and Hailee Biggerstaff; great grandchildren, Katelyn Dempsey, Adreonia and Landen McMillin and Jasilyn Robinson.Visitation for Mrs. Jan Shaw will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home.
