Janis Estes Ammer's Obituary
AMMER, JANIS ESTES loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away July 20, 2014 surrounded by her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Loyce Thomas Cooper and Marion Dabney Cooper. Janis is survived by her three daughters and their spouses, Susan and John DuPertuis of Grapevine, Robin Ammer and Nilsa Benitez of Orlando, Florida and Lauren and Frank Roof of McKinney. She has five granddaughters, Amanda, Ashley, Megan, Rachel and Alyson, a grandson by marriage, Logan and one great grandson Paxton. She is also survived by her brother Thomas Cooper and many nieces and nephews. Janis grew up in Dallas and was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in 1956. In 1957, she married Bobby Ammer. She was an artist and homemaker. She will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, love of travel and her artistic abilities. She was devoted to animals and contributed to numerous animal causes. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends Funeral Services will be held at 12:30 pm, Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Restland Wildwood Chapel.
