Janis Marie Anderson's Obituary
Janis Marie Anderson passed away on March 1, 2023 in Dallas, TX. She was born to John and Helen Saulsman on February 19, 1945 in Rochester, New York. Janis grew up in Dallas, TX where she graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. She went on to study and graduate from East Texas State University in 1966 where she established lifelong friendships. She began her teaching career at Bryan Adams High School in Dallas, TX and then transitioned into deaf education. She retired from Prairie Creek Elementary in Richardson, TX, where she served as an interpreter and bus driver for deaf children for many years. During her tenure at Prairie Creek she developed cherished friendships while co-founding and leading the district’s first sign language choir. She touched the lives of countless children through her work; however the love and sacrifice she gave for her own children and grandchildren was immeasurable. Janis was preceded in death by her parents, John and Helen Saulsman; sisters, Nancy Saulsman and Judy Neher; brother, John Saulsman Jr; and former husband, Andy Anderson. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Anderson; daughter, Kellie Anderson; future son in law, Grant Goodwin; grandchildren, Carter Wilson and Garrett Wilson; sister, Norma Worrall; brother in law, Gerald Worrall II; as well as many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
