Jacqueline McConnell's Obituary
Jacqueline McConnell, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2024, in Little Elm, TX. She was born on August 10, 1944, in New Iberia, Louisiana, to the late Jax and Brula Holder.
Jacqueline had a passion for education and teaching. She began her career as a school teacher, sharing her knowledge and inspiring young minds. In 1970, she started teaching high school English at Forest High School, which was also her alma mater. Her dedication to her students and her love for literature made a lasting impact on the community she served. After her time in the classroom, Jacqueline joined the Internal Revenue Service in 1972, where she continued to make invaluable contributions until her retirement in 2004.
Outside of her professional life, Jacqueline had a zest for life and cherished her family dearly. Her hobbies included traveling, exploring new places, and immersing herself in different cultures. She was an avid reader, finding solace and joy in the written word. However, her greatest joy came from spending time with her loved ones. Jacqueline's warm heart and welcoming spirit created countless cherished memories with her family and friends.
On April 12, 1971, Jacqueline married the love of her life, Wayne McConnell, in Hamburg, Arkansas. They shared a deep and unwavering love for each other. Sadly, Wayne passed away before her, but his memory continued to inspire and guide Jacqueline throughout her life's journey.
Jacqueline will forever be remembered by her daughter, Toni McConnell Kick and her husband JJ Kick; stepdaughter Cheryl McConnell Welker and her husband Kevin Welker; Cindy McConnell Thompson; her sister Linda Holder; her niece Katrina Stamback; her great-niece Alyssa Stamback; and her first cousin Nita Denmon and her husband Larry Denmon. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wayne McConnell; and her parents Jax and Brula Holder.
A visitation is scheduled Restland Funeral Home on 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas, 75234, on Friday February 9, 2024, from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM. A short procession will follow after visitation for a graveside service the same day at 3:00 PM at Restland Memorial Park in the Garden of Wisdom.
