Jaral G Meadows' Obituary
Jaral G. Meadows, 67, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2015. Jaral was born on September 25, 1948 in Waxahachie, TX. He grew up in South East Dallas at the corner of Military Parkway and Jim Miller Road. He grew up attending the 1st Baptist Church of Urbandale, where he was very involved in youth activities as a young man. Jaral went to school at W.W. Samuell High School in Dallas graduating in 1967. He graduated from Dallas Baptist College in 1971 as the Senior Class President. He returned in 1993 to graduate magnum cum laude with a MBA in Finance. He also graduated from the Center for Financial Planning, which led to his very wise and thoughtful consideration of how to invest the monetary resources he called his own. Upon graduating from Dallas Baptist College, Jaral began a 20 year career with the Ford Motor Company. Six short months of those twenty years were spent in Dallas, nine and one half years in Minneapolis, six years in Detroit and four years in Seattle. While in Minneapolis, he served in sales and service, marketing while in Detroit, and he was the district customer service manager in Seattle. He also served on the board of directors for the BBB in Seattle. After leaving Ford Motor Company, Jaral spent seventeen and one half years working independently for H&R Block as an instructor for advanced level tax courses. He also assisted in administrative work while there as well. In January of 1995, Jaral met the love of his life, Maria (Guerrero) Meadows. The two of them began a life of service to others, which included caring for Jaral’s mother Johnnie. At this same time they also started sharing a love for baseball, which continued up until Jaral’s final days on this earth. His time at DBU brought him back to the Lord in 1993, even though he rarely strayed far from his creator. He loved DBU baseball, so much so that he would follow DBU in the NAIA tournament even when he was in Seattle. Even during his battle with cancer, Jaral attended home baseball games at Horner Ballpark on the campus of DBU. Jaral was preceded in death by his parents John F. Meadows and Johnnie F. (Short) Meadows, as well as his brother John Michael Meadows. Family will receive friends on Thursday, November 5, 2015 from 6:00PM -8:00PM at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Friday, November 6, 2015 at 12:30PM in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
