Jarvis Jean Marshall's Obituary
MARSHALL, JARVIS JEAN BROYLES Born October 16, 1924 in Granfield, OK to Eva and Jim Broyles and passed away September 7, 201. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Jarvis grew up in Highland Park, graduating from Highland Park High School in 1942. She attended SMU and married fellow student John Marshall in 1945. Jarvis was a loyal and supportive wife during John’s long career with the Dallas Independent School District and served a term as President of the Cornillian Club, the Administrative Wives club of DISD. A longtime member of White Rock Methodist Church and the Mr. & Mrs. Class, following John’s death in 1985, she remained active in the church and served on the Church Board and Finance Committee. Following heart bypass in 1997, she joined the Landry Center of Baylor Medical Center and remained active and an inspiration to others throughout her life. Traveling with friends into her late 70s, she inspired her family to enjoy and appreciate the blessings of life. Since November, 2010 Jarvis was cared for by the Royse City Health and Rehab Center following a diagnosis of dementia. All there came to know her smile, her loving spirit and visits by the family. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Marshall Spradling and husband, Joe of Rockwall, son, Jim of Rowlett, grandchildren, Cara Spradling of Dallas and John and wife, Sarah Spradling of Wylie. Services will be held at 9:30AM, Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Restland Abbey Chapel with Rev. Dick Atkinson of WRMC presiding. Visitation will be from 8:30-9:30PM , Saturday, prior to the service at the Abbey Chapel.
